Tuesday morning the White House is planning a ‘big immigration launch’. It will concentrate on the implementation of the Department of Homeland Security proposal. It calls for the hiring of thousands of more officers and fast-tracking deportations
Secretary John Kelly signed it on Friday. If it is approved by President Trump, it would give federal authorities more power to aggressively detain and deport illegal immigrants who are inside the country and along U.S. borders.
Kelly has called for 10,000 additional ICE officers and agents and 5,000 new ones to be hired at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency.
Kelly wrote, “The surge of immigration at the southern border has overwhelmed federal agencies and resources and has created a significant national security vulnerability to the United States.”
He also said the ‘Trump wall’ was necessary.
There have been 10,000 to 15,000 more captures along that border between 2015 and 2016.
Obama’s executive orders on illegal immigration focused on deporting persons with criminal records and terrorist connections.
Kelly also writes, “Criminal aliens have demonstrated their disregard for the rule of law and pose a threat to persons residing in the United States. As such, criminal aliens are a priority for removal.”
Here is a video from FOX and Friends in which Judge Andrew Napolitano explains it.
