Why I Choose TRUMP
“A man who has not been a socialist before 25 has no heart. If he remains one after 25 he has no head.”—King Oscar II of Sweden
When I was 9 years old, a third grader, I remember the election well. The contest was between incumbent Democratic President Jimmy Carter and his Republican opponent, former California Governor Ronald Reagan, as well as Republican Congressman John B. Anderson, who ran as an independent. I remember sitting on the floor in our living room watching ABC’s coverage, hoping Reagan would win. Not because I heard my family discussing it at length, but because our class was watching the “Iran Hostage Crisis” (It had been about 380 days, give or take, when the election took place.)
In those days, we had a day of the week where we would, “Swish”. (If you remember this, you know what I am talking about.) Our day was Tuesday. Our teacher would always have a moment of silence, then hold up the swish cup and say, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the people stuck in Iran, and we hope they will be released soon.” And then she would say, “Swish”. That left such an impression in me, that I understood this- Jimmy Carter wasn’t doing anything, so maybe someone else could.
After the election, I didn’t pay much attention except we went through the same thing after we got back to school. Then one week, she said we wouldn’t “Swish until Friday.” Wow I thought, good (I hated it anyway). Then on the Friday that week, Jan 23, 1981, we had a party with a birthday cake, soda, and chips because the hostages were released 444 days after the ordeal had began on Nov 4, 1979. We got our “Weekly Readers”, that was the weekly paper for the schools, and that was the topic that week. And then, you guessed it, we ended the day with a “swish.” But this one meant something to me, the end of something bad and the beginning of something new.
Fast forward to 2015, we are in a financial mess. We have no foreign policy to speak of, we are the laughing stock of the world, and we have ZERO leadership from any “politician.” And this is where our problems begin, POLITICIANS. They only do what they think will get them re-elected to their old jobs, so they won’t really have to work for a living. And no wonder we are in the shape we’re in. Nothing is FREE in this country, and we have people running this country who have sold out our government to the very ones who claim to love our country, but they love their fame more. And this is a crying shame.
I Remember Reagan and Tip O’Neill going at each other about different issues when I was young, but they were not going at it to benefit themselves, it was their idea to benefit the next generation. We do not have those democrats or republicans anymore. Gone are the days when you would actually see elected official’s compromise to get a real issue solved for every single American, not just for the donors who contributed to the campaign.
I Voted for Bill Clinton in 1992. I was a young college liberal back then, but things changed in my life. I didn’t pay attention to how Bill Clinton handled the Lewinsky issue. I paid attention to how Hillary handled the Lewinsky issue. When she stood up there beside him during the press conference, I knew then, she was there for what she could get. A total political kiss-ass. And sadly, going on almost 20 years later, nothing’s changed.
I am what you would call that disenfranchised voter. I feel I have had the wool pulled over my eyes for years. And with the likes of G.W. Bush, B.H. Obama, who can blame me?!
It is Time to wake up and take America Back. To take from Ronald Reagan, “It’s morning in America Again” time to get the BS out of Washington. It’s time to get someone who isn’t a Washington Elitist. It’s time to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. And THIS is WHY I choose DONALD J. TRUMP for our next President of the United States of America!
