NBC anchor and Democrat apologist Lester Holt was seriously lambasted after arguing that the mainstream media has no obligation to give the American people both sides of the story.
Just call Me Lester Holt Dolt
In a speech, Lester Holt gave while accepting the Edward R. Murrow Award for Lifetime Achievement in fake news Journalism.
Holt criticized the notion that journalists must provide equal time to opposing viewpoints on an issue, insisting that some viewpoints are unworthy of airtime.
The host of NBC’s Nightly News remarked:
“I think it’s become clearer that fairness is overrated.
Before you run off and tweet that headline, let me explain a bit. The idea that we should always give two sides equal weight and merit does not reflect the world we find ourselves in.
That the sun sets in the west is a fact. Any contrary view does not deserve our time or attention.”
Lester Holt further argued that providing a platform for “misinformation,” especially when discussing issues related to public health and safety, can be dangerous, adding:
“Our duty is to be fair to the truth.”
Apparently anticipating criticisms of his stance, he stressed that refusing to cover “unsupported arguments” is not proof of some sort of agenda, and, in fact, “just the opposite.”

Lester Holt Conveniently Overlooks One Other Fact About Reporting…
Holt gave a ridiculously stupid example of something that has been scientifically proved for thousands of years, for why it’s not important to give both sides of the answer.
But what Lester Holt Dolt, not surprisingly, didn’t mention is the fact that American’s aren’t upset with the mainstream media for not giving us both sides of EVERY argument.
It’s the fact that mainstream media journalists like Lestor Holt no longer have the same opinion/criticism for Joe Biden as they had for Donald Trump.
Since Joe Biden was sworn in as President, as TuskerDaily, as well as 100’s of other Conservative political news sites, have pointed out.
Democrats and their mainstream media cohorts have done little to hide their blatant double standard between Trump, and Biden.
Holt’s comments conjure up memories of CNN’s Don Lemon dismissing Trump supporters during a January rant about alleged election interference.
Lemon mocked GOP lawmakers’ claims that they opposed President Biden’s Electoral College victory on behalf of millions of Trump voters and their concerns about claims of voter fraud and irregularities.
Of course, the same Don Lemon staunchly defended Stacey Abrams filing a lawsuit claiming that the GOP stole the election after she lost the Georgia Governor’s race to Republican Brian Kemp.
Unlike when he eviscerated President Donald Trump, Lemon wholeheartedly backed Abraham’s refusing to concede the governor’s race, despite losing by over 50,000 votes.

Lester Holt’s doltish monologue triggered howls of laughter
Critics of Holt’s idiocy saw his comments as a dog whistle to liberal reporters who see themselves as the arbiters of truth and, therefore, can cover the news from a one-sided perspective as long as it matches their networks narrative.
“Our duty is to be fair to the truth”
I have a feeling that what is considered “true” in this context is whatever NBC decides is true at any given moment.

if he is strictly talking about provable facts sure. like we teach evolution not creationism.
but i dont think so. media lies a lot over and over so they are not presenting facts. and more often i see opinions being pushed as “facts”.

That’s the definition of prejudice. You’d have to be so insufferably foolish to not see it.

Instead of @LesterHoltNBC telling all of us how we’re wrong to not believe the media, he may want to take a real look inward as to WHY the largest percentage of people ever DON’T trust the media. It’s not US dude, it’s YOU.

Hey Lester – it’s a dereliction of duty to declare that NBC – and others – have the corner on the truth when it is anything but “settled” or when said news company has not even investigated truth. Start with the GA election laws.
