Kid Rock, also known as Robert Ritchie, has started a website “Kid Rock for Senate.”

That has caused problems. Paul Seamus Ryan, vice president for policy and litigation at the watchdog group has said, “He can’t reasonably claim to be merely testing the waters of candidacy and thus exempt from candidate filing requirements. He is a candidate and is obligated to abide by all the rules and make the same disclosures required of everyone else running for federal office.”

Ryan continued, “He can’t reasonably claim to be merely testing the waters of candidacy and thus exempt from candidate filing requirements. He is a candidate and is obligated to abide by all the rules and make the same disclosures required of everyone else running for federal office.”

Kid Rock had a comment, “F*** yourself.”

Okay, that’s really right to the point. Kid Rock also made reference to media, in a blogpost on https://www.kidrockforsenate.com/ “Reports from the misinformed press and the fake news” in regard to the campaign violation, adding that “I have still not officially announced my candidacy.”

The reality is that candidates who are truly “testing the waters” do not have to abide by these rules until it is clear they are making the steps toward becoming a candidate, at which time they must file all the proper paperwork and disclosures.

The watchdog group believes Rock, through his various Kid Rock-labeled merchandise, which would make him a candidate according to election law because he has received contributions and/or made expenditures in excess of $5,000.

I humbly believe that the left is rather concerned about Robert Ritchie. He would go up against Senator Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., in November 2018.

A presidential Trump win was not taken seriously by the left. That got the country a President Trump. Now, would a Kid Rock win blow everyone’s minds? Maybe they actually think he could win a Senate seat against a Democrat?
