While researching for another article, I stumble upon a ludicrous article from the Huffington Post titled “Big Brother Trump”, that was published last year.
Here’s an excerpt from that article, then I will debunk several things
“If thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought.” So said George Orwell in his essay, “Politics and the English Language.”Orwell gave us a terrifying glimpse at how language corrupts thought in his classic novel, 1984. Published in 1949, 1984 was set in the fictional totalitarian state of Oceania, ruled by a shadowy figure called Big Brother. “Newspeak” was the government-created and controlled language of Oceania. As described by Orwell in his Appendix to 1984, “The Principles of Newspeak,” the language was designed to meet the ideological needs of Big Brother’s regime by limiting language and twisting grammar not only to provide a government-approved medium of expression, but also “to make all other modes of thought impossible.” The purpose of Newspeak, simply stated, was “not to extend but to diminish the range of thought.” When words inimical to the regime simply don’t exist, criticism of the regime becomes impossible to articulate or, worse, literally unthinkable. The Trump administration, of course, has not purported to create a new, government-approved language. But it is nevertheless engaged in manipulation of language that would have made Big Brother proud. The most recent, and most blatant, attempt by the Trump administration to manipulate language to control policy and thought is an out-and-out assault on science. According to the Washington Post, the Trump administration has instructed officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) to avoid using the words “vulnerable,” “entitlement,” “diversity,” “transgender,” “fetus,” “evidence-based,” and “science-based” in their budget requests.
First of all the claim that Trump “instructed officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) to avoid using the words “vulnerable,” “entitlement,” “diversity,” “transgender,” “fetus,” “evidence-based,” and “science-based” in their budget requests.” was debunked by the CDC director himself.
I want to assure you there are no banned words at CDC. We will continue to talk about all our important public health programs.— Dr. Robert R. Redfield (@CDCDirector) December 17, 2017
Second of all if Trump was Big Brother then why is the media aka the telescreens so anti-Trump? There have been countless and countless of negative and false stories about Trump, Trump supporters, and Trump admin officials.
According to Newsbusters.org the media coverage of Trump is 90% negative
The liberal media’s war against President Trump was as fierce as ever during the first four months of 2018, but the onslaught appears to be for naught: In the face of massive and hostile coverage from ABC, CBS and NBC, Trump’s overall job approval rating actually rose, from 37 percent in mid-December to roughly 43 percent at the end of April.
The Media Research Center studied all broadcast evening news coverage of the President from January 1 through April 30, and found 90 percent of the evaluative comments about Trump were negative — precisely the same hostile tone we documented in 2017.
In another article, Newsbusters.org went further describing the hostility towards Trump from the media.
Third “Newspeak” was the government-created and controlled language of Oceania. As described by Orwell in his Appendix to 1984, “The Principles of Newspeak,” the language was designed to meet the ideological needs of Big Brother’s regime by limiting language and twisting grammar not only to provide a government-approved medium of expression but also “to make all other modes of thought impossible.”
Look at that at that last part of that phrase “The Principles of Newspeak,” the language was designed to meet the ideological needs of Big Brother’s regime by limiting language and twisting grammar not only to provide a government-approved medium of expression but also “to make all other modes of thought impossible.”
Who doesn’t that sound like? It’s not Trump, the liberals and democrats actually partake in Newspeak or should political correctness (which in my opinion is Newspeak in modern times.
For example here is an example of some words and phrases that were just created and abandon before it was “climate change” it was “global warming”, before “global warming” it was “global cooling”, also now they want to change from “climate change” to just “weather extreme”, and if you try to counter arguments against “climate change” or what if term they desire it to be they’ll call you a “denier” or attack you.. I’ll be going into more depth on the comparison of today’s political correctness to Newspeak in another article.
However, this article is about responding to Huffington Post’s claim that Trump is Big Brother and that claim falls flat out on its head because if Trump was Big Brother all the mainstream media including the Huffington Post be would be agreeing with Trump. Trump is actually more of an “Emmanuel Goldstein”.
The “Two Minutes hate”, was an assembly during which Party orators whip the populace into a frenzy of hatred against the enemies of Oceania
The horrible thing about the Two Minutes Hate was not that one was obliged to act a part, but that it was impossible to avoid joining in. Within thirty seconds any pretense was always unnecessary. A hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness, a desire to kill, to torture, to smash faces in with a sledge hammer, seemed to flow through the whole group of people like an electric current, turning one even against one’s will into a grimacing, screaming lunatic. And yet the rage that one felt was an abstract, undirected emotion which could be switched from one object to another like the flame of a blowlamp.
Doesn’t that sound more like the Media aka telescreens indoctrinating the populace with hatred against Trump? Trump, is trying to free us from the real Big Brother also known as the Deep State, which is a shadowy figure(s) just like Big Brother in the novel “1984” no one ever hears directly from Big Brother “his” commands and directions are always just put out on the media aka telescreens and fed to the populace.
I mean have you seen how crazy liberals are and the threats against not only Trump and his family, but also his supporters, and administration officials and even fellow Republicans? The kind of hatred comes directly from the hostility of not only the media big democratic politicians like Maxine Waters and others and even our universities and colleges, as well as Hollywood.
Remember this command from Maxine Waters “If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” Waters said.
She later told MSNBC that protesters are “going to absolutely harass them.”
American Thinker’s Rick Horan wrote about some of the threats and against Trump by Hollywood celebrities
Breitbart even has “rap sheet’ of the 567 acts of Media approved violence and harassment against Trump supporters.
Here are two very good videos that demonstrate hate week
This from the movie “1984” this is what the “Two Minutes Hate” looks like
Also, this video form Computing Forever has a good analogy of Emmanuel Goldstein to Trump
