A F/A-18E Super Hornet shot down a Syrian Su-22 that had dropped bombs near positions held by Syrian Democratic Forces.
It has attacked Washington backed fighters near the ISIS held city of Raqqa.
This tuned back an attack by Syrian leader, Basher al-Assad’s forces.
The promise to continue to act accordingly, has given rise to Russian threats.
Russia threatened that U.S.-led coalition planes flying in Syria, west of the Euphrates River, would be considered targets.
Well now, the U.S. has said pilots operating over Syria won’t hesitate to defend themselves from Russian threats in the latest escalation between the two superpowers since a U.S. jet shot down the Syrian aircraft.
Department of Defense spokesperson Maj. Adrian J.T. Rankine-Galloway said, “As a result of recent encounters involving pro-Syrian Regime and Russian forces, we have taken prudent measures to re-position aircraft over Syria so as to continue targeting ISIS forces while ensuring the safety of our aircrew given known threats in the battlespace.”
Do you believe Russia would shoot at an American plane over Syria? That would be an act of war. Vladimir Putin is not that stupid.
I’ll take my chances with a President Donald Trump led military to win this battle.
