Simply mind-numbing that the same Democrat Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo that was previously promoting “open borders” is now going door to door to confront residences that have New York license plated vehicles outside of the home.
Gov. Gina Raimondo said in September:
When politicians in Washington took aim at our Dreamers, we stood with them because, in Rhode Island, we don’t just tolerate diversity; we celebrate it.
But over the weekend, Rhode Island’s open borders Democrat Governor sent Rhode Island police door-to-door to looking for fleeing New Yorkers and ordering them to self-quarantine for 14 days.
Despite it being unconstitutional, I can understand Gov. Gina Raimondo’s intentions.
But isn’t it amazing how these leftist governors like Raimondo, only months ago called anyone racist for merely suggesting that we need to secure the U.S. border because migrants who are crossing illegally into America may be carrying an infectious disease, have now done a complete reversal of their beliefs?
Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo (D) on Friday identified travelers from New York City as a massive risk to the Ocean State — an assertion New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) took issue with, ultimately threatening to sue.
“Right now we have a pinpointed risk,” Raimondo said at Friday’s news conference. “That risk is called New York City.”
“So today, we’re actually going to be going driveway to driveway to identify New York vehicles in driveways,” Westerly Chief of Police Shawn Lacey said on Saturday.
“If somebody has a concern of New York vehicles parked in a particular driveway or address that aren’t usually there, or the people that own the house and are in, we have no problem with them notifying us,” Lacey said.
“We will send an officer to that house to notify them of the mandated quarantine,” he continued.
“This is more of an educational tool to make people aware,” he added. “I think our presence being out there it’s going to make people aware of what’s going on.”
Additionally, there are checkpoints established in Rhode Island as authority figures stop vehicles with New York license plates and maintain a log of contact information.
Raimondo has extended her order to all out-of-state vehicles to stop at information centers that are on secondary roads and highways.

The door to door check-ins are also extended to all residences that have out-of-state license plates outside of the home. The state is still determining how and when they will narrow which communities.
The stay-at-home order for Rhode Islanders will be over by April 13th, unless told otherwise.
