Trump Campaign Manager Brad Parscale declared on Saturday that the Trump family are “a dynasty that will last for decades.” His statement led to some speculation over whether the President’s children might run for office.
Both Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump have been touted as possible political candidates down the road. The United States of America, which has a history of anti-monarchism, is not foreign to political dynasties. You don’t have to look far through our history to find names such as Adams, Harrison, Roosevelt, Kennedy, and Bush. Could the Trump family be the next? There are many prospects for it.
Donald Trump Jr., who has been seen on the campaign trail frequently speaking at rallies, as well as going on the offensive against Trump critics on Twitter, has been put forward as a possible future candidate to be mayor of New York City, but a run for the White House can’t be ruled out.
The President’s daughter, Ivanka, and her husband Jared Kushner, were both picked by the President as senior advisors, and have since been given greater responsibilities in his administration.
Ivanka Trump has been seen by the President’s side on trips to the G-20 economic summit in Japan, and in his recent state visit to the United Kingdom. She was included in the delegation in the President’s visit to the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea. The President’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, has been tapped by the President to be his envoy in the Middle East. Kushner’s efforts helped forge a plan for Middle East peace, considered a nearly impossible task for any prior administration or diplomat.
“The Trumps will be a dynasty that will last for decades, propelling the Republican Party into a new party.” Parscale is convinced. “One that will adapt to changing cultures.”
In order to survive, the party “must continue to adapt while keeping the conservative values that we believe in.” Parscale insists.
Time will tell if the Trump family has the makings of a political dynasty in line with some of the great ones throughout our history. The prospects look good that some of Trump’s offspring have political futures of their own, whether or not they make it to the White House.
