by Daveda Gruber:
Sunday John Brennan, the former CIA director, said in an interview Sunday that he is willing to do whatever he can to prevent others from having their security clearances revoked. This includes taking the president to court. Brennan is an outspoken critic of President Trump.
Brennan was on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and said lawyers have approached him on the issue. The lawyers spoke about obtaining an injunction to prevent more security clearances being revoked.
Brennan said, “If my clearances and my reputation as I’m being pulled through the mud now, if that’s the price we’re going to pay to prevent Donald Trump from doing this against other people, to me it’s a small price to pay. So I am going to do whatever I can personally to try to prevent these abuses in the future. And if it means going to court, I will do that.”
Brennan served in President Obama’s administration. He said it is up to Congress to put aside politics and step in.
He said, “This is the time that your country is going to rely on you, not to do what is best for your party but what is best for the country.”
He said on CNN that the president is “drunk on power.”
The process for approving security clearances was signed by an executive order by former President Bill Clinton and was signed in 1995. It lays out the process for approving security clearances and describes a detailed revocation and appeal procedure.
“The Washington Post” has reported that four million Americans have some form of security clearances.
Ron Johnson, R-Wis., the Senate Homeland Security Committee chairman criticized Brennan’s political comments on “Fox News Sunday.” He suggested an alternative to yanking his clearance.
Johnson explained that Brennan began harshly criticizing the president as soon as he took office.
Johnson said, “John Brennan really did cross the line. He’s one of the leaders of the resistance movement. … I understand President Trump’s frustration. The best way of handling this, in any administration, is: If you don’t want to consult with somebody, you don’t necessarily have to yank their security clearance, just don’t give them access to the classified material.”
Trump Tweeted this about Brennan:
Has anyone looked at the mistakes that John Brennan made while serving as CIA Director? He will go down as easily the WORST in history & since getting out, he has become nothing less than a loudmouth, partisan, political hack who cannot be trusted with the secrets to our country!

Don’t give him access? Should Trump watch over the swamp 24/7 and make sure that no one gives Brennan information? I believe that’s what it would take to make sure that no one gives Brennan information.
By the way, Brennan is not the only person in that swamp. It is filled with others who are lashing out at our president. Many playing in the mud of the swamp are just itching to get information to give to the ‘Fake News’ media.
