A warning is going out by the U.S. State Department to college students across the country. They are saying not to spend spring break in certain parts of Mexico, where widespread crime has made travel unsafe for Americans.

Warning comes with spring break coming up. Mexico, once among the most popular spring break destinations, is overwhelmed with widespread levels of violence, according to the government.

State department travel warning stated, “U.S. citizens have been the victims of violent crimes, including homicide, kidnapping, carjacking and robbery in various Mexican States.”

Unfortunately, not all young people listen to warnings. Kids just want to have fun. I hope it doesn’t cost lives.
