Are beltway liberals deliberately downplaying the MS-13 threat simply because President Donald Trump had the intestinal fortitude to call them “animals?”
Tucker Carlson is convinced that is exactly what is happening. The Fox News pundit declared that Ariana Funes-Diaz would be alive today if not for “a deliberate policy.” The way liberal lawmakers reason, Carlson insists, “the enemy of Donald Trump must be my friend.”
Even though the MS-13 gangs proudly declare “kill, rape, control,” as they murder high school students, torture people, and peddle illegal drugs, liberals want us to feel sympathy. As Carlson put it, “They’re the deadliest criminal gang in America and yet, once Trump attacked them, the left decided that worrying about MS-13 was a greater threat to our values than the gang itself.”
One particular statement by President Trump last year was especially polarizing to progressives. “When the MS-13 comes in, when the other gang members come into our country, I referred to them as animals and guess what? I always will.” Liberal heads exploded instantly.
The traditional Democrat policy has always been “don’t side with criminals” because they are known for championing the rights of the working class, the ones most affected by violent crime. That was before President Trump was elected. Now that the president has had the courage to point out how vicious these criminals are, they suddenly change their tune. The chief political correspondent for left-leaning Slate magazine, Jamelle Bouie, has the gall to assert, “I do think there’s a serious problem with the president dehumanizing any group of people in the united states, even if they are hardened criminals.”
Nancy Pelosi is fully in favor of murdering unborn babies but when it comes to sinisterly tattooed members of Mara Salvatrucha all she can say is “we’re all God’s children.” The Democrat Speaker of the House feels, “there is a spark of divinity in every person on Earth and so when the president of the United States says about undocumented immigrants, ‘these aren’t people, these are animals,’ you have to wonder, does he not believe in the spark of divinity, the dignity and worth of every person?”
The real reason that the left stands up for MS-13 gang-bangers, Carlson believes, is because “they can’t acknowledge a downside to the open borders they’ve given us.”
