Democrat Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib is hoping for a “serious conversation” on the slavery reparations bill she introduced.

Tlaib just wants to level the playing field. Folks back home in Detroit have been screaming where’s the cash?

Last week, the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties, in the Democrat controlled House, held a hearing to kick the issue around but it isn’t anywhere close to being scheduled for a vote.

When cornered by a reporter the other day, Tlaib made it clear she’ll take anything she can get, but her constituents want cash.

“I support any opportunity for restorative justice,” she declares. “I can tell you at home it is direct payment that people want to see.”

That’s just a start. Free college is a must-have in the shopping cart.

“Also increased access to higher education, to real equitable funding in education systems, right now, across the country.”

While Congress is at it, her voters have been having a hard time finding a house. “We’ve lost more black home-ownership than any other state in the country,” Tlaib points out. The numbers are horrible, she insists. They’re below what they were before “fair housing.”
