High ranking Obama administration officials, if not former President Barack Obama himself, ordered the Ukraine to “back off” of an official investigation. This takes on special significance now that an investigation into whether Joe Biden improperly extorted Ukraine officials into firing a prosecutor has been opened.
The prosecutor investigating an energy company directed by Biden’s son, Burisma Group, was removed after Biden allegedly threatened to stop their foreign aid. President Trump asked Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to “look into it.” Democrats are now trying to use that as grounds to impeach President Trump.
“There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it… It sounds horrible to me.” Democrats say that “Mafia Don” Trump made it clear that a “favor” was oh so much more than a favor.
When John Solomon at The Hill read that, he immediately noticed similarities with another Ukrainian non-profit, the “Anti-Corruption Action Centre (AntAC).” As Solomon reports, it was “part of a larger probe by Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office into whether $4.4 million in U.S. funds to fight corruption inside the former Soviet republic had been improperly diverted.”
It didn’t take long before the U.S. Embassy in Kiev “took the rare step of trying to press the Ukrainian government to back off its investigation of both the U.S. aid and the group.” Ukraine’s prosecutor general had just been fired “under pressure from the United States.” Now we know that pressure came from then Vice President Joe Biden.
Months later, his replacement, Yuri Lutsenko, told Solomon that “he was stunned when the ambassador ‘gave me a list of people whom we should not prosecute'” On the list were the founder of AntAC and “two members of Parliament who vocally supported the group’s anti-corruption reform agenda.”
Later, the public would learn that AntAC was “co-funded by the Obama administration and liberal mega-donor George Soros.”
The real reason why it was plastered with “hands-off” stickers was because, “it was collaborating with the FBI agents investigating then-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort’s business activities with pro-Russian figures in Ukraine.” According to the senior Ukrainian official, “we ran right into a buzzsaw and we got bloodied.”
Soros is well known as one of the “largest donors to American liberal causes,” and he also has “extensive business interests in Ukraine.” AntAC pulled in a cool $1 million from State Department and Justice Department budgets. They got another $290,000 straight from the International Renaissance Foundation, owned by George Soros.
The FBI admits they worked with Soros in the Ukraine. “In furtherance of the FBI’s mission and in the course of their duties, FBI employees routinely travel and participated in public forums in an official capacity. At a minimum, all such travel and speaking engagements are authorized by the employee’s direct supervisor and can receive further authorization all the way up to the relevant division head, along with an ethics official determination.”
