Three terrified Democratic lawmakers are trying to tell America’s President that he can’t make an an Independence Day speech to honor the founding of our great nation.
A letter to the White House scribbled on Thursday demands that President Trump cancel his fourth of July speech, scheduled to be delivered from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
HOLD THE DATE! We will be having one of the biggest gatherings in the history of Washington, D.C., on July 4th. It will be called “A Salute To America” and will be held at the Lincoln Memorial. Major fireworks display, entertainment and an address by your favorite President, me!

The letter was signed by Arizona Rep. Raul Grijalva, long known as a supporter of open borders and a proponent of the Azatlan Movement which seeks to retake the southwestern portion of the United States and return it to the Latinos.
In Spanish, it comes out as “Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan,” which they shorten to “MEChA.” According to Mayorno.com
“MEChA is an Hispanic separatist organization that encourages anti-American activities and civil disobedience. The radical members of MEChA who refer to themselves as “Mechistas,” romanticize Mexican claims to the “lost Territories” of the Southwestern United States — a Chicano country called Aztlan.”
“In its national constitution, MEChA calls for self-determination by its members to liberate Aztlan. MEChA’s national constitution starts out: “Chicano and Chicana students of Aztlán must take upon themselves the responsibilities to promote Chicanismo within the community, politicizing our Raza with an emphasis on indigenous consciousness to continue the struggle for the self-determination of the Chicano people for the purpose of liberating Aztlán.”
“Liberating” is a word often used as a replacement for “stealing.”
The House Minority Leader, Steny Hoyer of Maryland and Rep. Betty McCollum of Minnesota also signed the letter of demand.
“[The event] could create the appearance of a televised, partisan campaign rally on the Mall at public expense.”
Hoyer doubled down on his unpatriotic drivel with a statement to the liberal media.
“President Trump’s efforts to insert politics into a celebration of our nation’s history is extremely alarming. Forcing taxpayers to foot the bill for what amounts to a political rally is irresponsible and a misuse of funds. I strongly urge the president to reconsider his proposed event.”
Apparently these members of Congress aren’t very familiar with history. Media outlet Quartz did some digging into that last year.
“While some Independence Day remarks have been undoubtedly political, they’ve all typically followed the same pattern: Count the years since he signing of the Declaration of Independence, invoke America’s founding fathers, extol the virtue of liberty, and — if you’re feeling verbose — try to bring together an ever-divided country.”
What Democrats are really afraid of is that President Donald Trump is the first American leader in a very long time who puts the interests of America ahead of a global agenda.
That is called “nationalism” and anything to do with a nationalist philosophy has been under attack by left-leaning liberal globalists ever since President Trump started running for office.
As Ronald Reagan pointed out, “all through our history, our presidents and leaders have spoken of national unity and warned us that the real obstacle to moving forward the boundaries of freedom, the only permanent danger to the hope that is America, comes from within.”
Enemies of America appear to have infiltrated the hallowed halls of congress. That can be the only possible reason why lawmakers who swore an oath to uphold the constitution would want to suppress free speech.
They actually believe they can stop the American President from talking to the American people simply because he may say something that they don’t like. And the media is helping them to do it by pushing their side of the story down the throats of every citizen on the television, radio and everywhere else.
