Conservative journalist Laura Loomer was physically assaulted by Rashida Tlaib, and the whole thing was caught on tape. Loomer, who happens to be Jewish, was at an event held in a Minnesota Palestinian restaurant, that was a stop on Ilhan Omar’s 2018 campaign tour.
Michigan’s Democrat Representative is famous for her “unhinged hatred of Jews and Israel.” Her racist contempt was in full display, as Tlaib physically attacked Loomer. Ilhan Omar stood by and looked on approvingly, while Tlaib violently lunged, struggling physically with Loomer and actually tried to confiscate her phone as Loomer was using it to film the whole thing.
Larry Klayman, attorney for conservative activist groups Freedom Watch, filed Loomer’s civil action on Friday. They are asking for $2 Million in damages for the assault and battery as well as for religious discrimination against Loomer as a Jew.
Freedom Watch issued a press release on Friday stating that Loomer didn’t file the complaint for political purposes. She wants to “hold Tlaib accountable for her unhinged hatred of Jews and Israel, which manifested itself in Tlaib’s physical attack.”
She wants to make sure, that “this hate-filled anti-Semitic Congresswoman can be held to account to the rule of American law, rather than the Sharia law she and her sister radical Muslim Congresswoman Omar pledge their primary allegiance to.”
The brawl started when Loomer “asked simple and straightforward questions of the future Congresswoman about her stances toward Israel, Jews and terrorist groups such as Hamas.”
As spelled out in the lawsuit, “In response, and in the presence of Omar, who looked on approvingly, Tlaib violently lunged at Loomer, interacted with her physically and grabbed her phone… This put Loomer in alleged fear of immediate severe bodily injury.”
Right after the incident, Loomer filed a formal complaint against Tlaib with the Minneapolis Police Department, but it went into limbo and nothing was done. Freedom Watch thinks that’s “likely because the police do not want to be smeared as ‘Islamophobic’ by Tlaib and Omar.”
Klayman has good reason to feel that way, he notes, “especially given that Minnesota’s powerful Attorney General, Keith Ellison, who is a Muslim political ally of Tlaib and Omar, is also an anti-Semite and close to Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam.”
The lawsuit was filed only days after Tlaib and Omar were denied entry into Israel because of their anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself declared that they were forced to lock them out because, Tlaib and Omar’s travel itinerary “revealed that they planned a visit whose sole objective is to strengthen the boycott against us and deny Israel’s legitimacy.”
