Singer and Hollywood icon Cher has a long history of exchanging disparaging twitter comments with President Donald Trump. The two of them have been going back and forth on the social media platform for years. This time, even her fans say her comments were outrageously over the top.
Thanks to Daily Mail for snagging the screen-shot before it disappeared. Apparently, capital letters are something Cher is challenged by.
Today’s Hollywood celebrities are famous for taking themselves too seriously. They may have millions of fans but their political views don’t carry any more weight than anyone else. They are personal opinions and nothing more. With the way Americans are obsessed with social media, as soon as a well known personality hits the send button, reply comments start flooding in.
It didn’t take long, only a matter of hours, before Cher had a change of heart and deleted the hideous post calling for the President to be sexually assaulted.
By then, the damage had been done and angry comments continued to pour in, both from conservatives standing up for the President and liberals complaining about the obvious double standard. Hate speech is hate speech, they reminded.
In an attempt to put out the blazing fire started by the deleted tweet, she tapped out a follow-up, making it absolutely clear she had no intention of saying she was sorry for it.
This is Not Apology,It’s a Cher ‘wtf Moment’.Dont Usually Delete My Twts,But Sometimes I Need 2 Check Myself.What I Thought Of As Stupid Joke”On Paper”,Went 2 Far.Think trump Belongs In Jail,but Big Bubba Joke Was Wrong.If I Twt,I Have a Responsibility.
THERES IS A LINE NOT 2 ❌

Fox news weighed in on the issue, reporting, “the 73-year-old singer is never shy about posting her unfiltered thoughts on Donald Trump and the Republican party.”
President Trump hasn’t been shy about exchanging tweets with Cher either, most of their dialogs have been made in a lighthearted spirit of humor. For instance, when she posted a comment about the Los Angeles homeless problem being made worse by the busing of immigrants into the city, Trump replied, “for once, I agree with Cher.”
Some of the noteworthy replies to Cher’s politically incorrect remarks were:
I’m not a Trump fan by any means. But that’s disgusting what Cher said.
“Well she’s insane”
“Hate has conquered them All [sad face]”
“Poor girl gets blessed and now her opinion matters??? What matters is: she needs our prayers!!”
John Ayres summed it up best:
“There’s a common pattern of actors & actresses, that have become irrelevant, sharing their political opinions in the hope that relevant actors & actresses will find favor and agreement. It’s really sad. Makes no one angry, just sad that their lives have come to this point.”
Looks like Cher could learn a lesson from the lyrics to one of her most famous songs…”If I Could Turn Back Time.”
