Adam Schiff “not prepared to recommend” impeachment.
Democrats, especially the young unruly ones, have been screaming their heads off. Howling for their leadership to start impeaching President Trump, even though he didn’t actually do anything wrong.
In a surprise move, Rep. Adam Schiff slammed on the brakes.
The California Democrat, who serves as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, previously ranted there was “ample evidence” of collusion between President Donald Trump and the Kremlin. Only Robert Mueller couldn’t actually find any of it.
Ever since Mueller held a press conference to drop the hot potato in congressional laps, Schiff has been trying to have him hauled in for interrogation.
Mueller spelled out in big block letters that all he has to say, he said in his report. He wants to ride off into the sunset and put the whole mess behind him. Preferably, a nice vacation in some kind of witness protection hide out.
Since Mueller isn’t cooperating voluntarily, Schiff is starting to realize they don’t have any of that “ample evidence” after all.
“We may get there,” Schiff reassured CNN’s Jake Tapper, What would get me to that point is if we get to a final court decision compelling the administration to provide testimony and documents and they still refuse, then I think we are in a full-blown constitutional crisis that would compel that kind of remedy.”
But, they’re not anywhere near there yet and it doesn’t look likely they ever will be.
“At this point, I’m not prepared to recommend it.”
