An altercation inside a Detroit, Michigan hookah lounge early on Sunday morning escalated into a mass stabbing incident in the parking lot, leaving eight people hospitalized with knife injuries.

Police say eight people have been hospitalized after being stabbed outside of the Detroit-area hookah lounge early Sunday.

An unidentified 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the Mass stabbing.

According to local ABC News affiliate WXYZ, the stabbing happened around 4:41 a.m. in the 6700 block of Greenfield.

The altercation inside the hookah lounge spilled out into the parking lot where the stabbings occurred.

All eight victims, who are of Arabic descent, were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

According to the Detroit Police Department spokesperson, none of the injuries were fatal.

The suspect was arrested at the hospital where he was being treated for injuries from the altercation.

The police spokesperson also added that one person at the location fired shots, but no one was injured.
