I don’t recall hearing about this during the 2016 debates. I guess it wouldn’t have mattered, since the cards were stacked against Bernie Sanders anyway. What did he mean when he said that women fantasized about being gang raped when they were having sex? I can honestly say this has never crossed my mind in all my years of marriage. He also said that men fantasize as well, and that they dream of a “woman on her knees, a woman tied up, a woman abused”. I asked my husband if this was ever a fantasy of his and he looked at me and said, “No, but I’ve fantasized about taping your mouth shut.”
Bernie sweats profusely as he tries to defend himself, claiming his words came from an essay that was “poorly written” over 40 years ago. Was it especially hot that day, or was he just that ashamed? We have seen one disgusting politician after another having to make excuses for their misdeeds, so maybe old Bernie is just afraid he will be next in line.
Something has changed now, and women are coming out of the woodwork. They have found a sense of courage that has been locked deep inside for years, and now these men are being put on trial in the minds of many Americans. It didn’t help when we learned that a “slush fund” with taxpayer money has been set aside for decades, to pay off women who refused to be silenced by threats and intimidation.
Bernie’s essay has another interesting comment when he asks why a magazine with a headline that reads “Girl, 12, Raped By 14 men” sells so well. Is he suggesting that people get a thrill when reading such a thing? The whole thing is very strange and I’m not sure what to think of it.
