Whitmer’s extension sparked fury among many residents, and that led to a group of outraged citizens to descend on Michigan’s capital building to protest
But according to Michigan governor Whitmer, the Coronavirus lockdown protesters carried “swastikas, Confederate flags, and nooses”:
“Displays like the one we saw at the state capitol are not representative of who we are. There were swastikas, Confederate flags, nooses, people with assault rifles.”
Whitmer also added:
“Some of the outrageousnesses of what happened at our capitol this week, you know, depicted some of the worst racism and awful parts of our history in this country. The Confederate flags and nooses, the swastikas, the, you know, behavior that you’ve seen in all of the clips, is not representative of who we are in Michigan.”
Whitmer’s Hypocrisy In Labeling The Michigan Protesters
What is hysterical about Whitmer’s idiocy is her pointing out to Jake Tapper that those people who participated in the protest didn’t represent the 10 million Michigan residents as a whole.
But even if she was correct (she’s not) and a few of the protesters were carrying and/or displaying Swastikas, Confederate Flags, and Nooses.
Then those few individuals only made only a small fraction of the larger group of protesters.
But Whitmer gave no such similar asterisk to the protest.
As Whitmer proclaimed everyone who participated in the Michigan protest was a Trump-supporting racist.
Here are a few pictures from that protest… Maybe it’s me but I didn’t see any nooses or anything overtly racist among the protesters.
However, What I did see was Americans wanting to return to some semblance of a normal life.
