An Open Letter From A Soldier
By- SGT. TOMMY HOLCOMB
Hi. My name is Tommy Holcomb. I live in Yalobusha Co. MS. I am currently in the National Guard and have been for 18 years. I am a two-time Veteran. I want you to know how deeply I am in support of Mr. TRUMP. It may not seem like much to you, but my wife and I have been pushing for Trump since his announcement to run. We have personally talked to everyone we know and many strangers urging for their support. We have recently begun working with Mr. Trump’s Mississippi campaign. I have a love for my country and want you to know I am dedicated to doing all I can to support TRUMP. I have already delivered a load of yard signs to supporters and plan on personally delivering signs to my entire National Guard unit, as well as anyone else who wants one when we have our next drill at Camp Shelby. I am just an average man and have never been involved in politics but Mr. TRUMP has inspired me and given me hope. I have my own personal issues with the military. It’s getting harder and harder to give newcomers a justifiable reason to join and make it a career. I know with TRUMP as our Commander in Chief things would change! A career soldier and veteran like myself with a legitimate cause, should not have to wait 2 years or longer to receive Veteran Disability benefits that we deserve to help provide basic needs for our family. There are so many others like myself that deserve so much better. I believe Trump will make positive changes for me, my family, our military and all the people of this country.
I know it may seem crazy to some but Mr. TRUMP has impacted myself and my wife so much that after we paid our bills (of course) we took our last $150 for the week that we sure could have used elsewhere and drove 3 hours to Little Rock, Arkansas to see him, but it was worth it. Just to hear him and be able to tell others what he said and how he was. We don’t get to watch TV or the news much because we haven’t had cable in two years. By choice, it was something we had to give up. It’s been hard on us. I say this NOT to get pity, NOT to ask for anything, but just to let everyone know that there ARE people and veterans like me everywhere who are struggling. BUT for the first time in a long time we feel HOPE in TRUMP. Hearing him speak in Little Rock reaffirmed everything I believe in him. We were lucky enough to get right up front on the gate. We stood there waiting for 4 hours with nothing but excitement. When it was over he came around and Mr. Trump actually looked in my face, thanked me for my service as I told him I was an 18 year Veteran and had been awaiting benefits for 2 years, he told me I would get taken care of and he shook my hand then asked me if I was ok. Gosh at the respect I have for him now! I simply answered. “In making it”. I mean he really had enough concern to personally ask me about ME!
The TRUMP rally in Little Rock, Arkansas was my very first TRUMP event. It was a moving experience for sure! You can just tell that he truly cares about his fellow American citizens and has nothing but love, admiration, and much respect for us. And I realized that Mr. Trump really cares about our Veterans. He proved that when he talked with me. TRUMP is 100% all about the American Way! He is Made In America and Made For America! It’s time we the people of the United States of America elect a man that is a real, true American that has our best interest at heart! God Bless you Mr. TRUMP! And God Bless America!
