They’re coming out of the woodwork. One claim after another is being brought out against Washington DC politicians who for years have gotten away with their sexual improprieties. Now we are finding out that taxpayers have been footing the bill for their settlements, and Americans deserve to know why.
What happens in DC is no longer staying in DC, as the sexually abused women are finding their long hidden voices, the fear of reprisal no longer front and center in their minds. There is strength in numbers, and as for the guilty parties, they can only sit in their offices or at home with their wives, and wait for their number to be called. For some it was just a one night stand, something they have long regretted. But with others it’s an obsession, a constant desire, an animal-like instinct to seek out their prey.
One thing is for certain, the problem is widespread. Our politicians have used their positions and their power to do as they will. They hire attractive women, then expect more from them than the usual duties. If they complain, they are quickly shown the door. Those who wish to climb the ladder of success, know that it comes with a price. It’s just something you have to get use to, and learn to endure. In the past it was dangerous for one to speak out. Your life would be ruined, and your career cut short.
Something changed in the year 2017. Women who were tired of being treated like play things actually decided to “grow a pair”. Many of us were already aware of the sexual misdeeds of our politicians, but what we didn’t know, was that our tax dollars have been paying for these men to settle cases out of court. While many Americans were struggling to make ends meet, their paychecks were being slashed by the IRS, just so these men could have promiscuous sex.
The accusations have ranged from a quick pat on the butt, to unwanted kisses and forceful rape. Some have claimed this is “just the tip of the iceberg”, which leaves us to wonder just how many of these settlements have come and gone and how many more we can expect. In 1995, a secret “slush fund” was created that would take care of women who made claims against those who had sexually assaulted them. The fund was enacted through the Congressional Accountability Act (CAA) and is now managed by the “Office of Compliance,” which itself was created following the enactment of the CAA. Other labor laws were included with the CAA including the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Federal Service Labor Management Relations Statute, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938.
To make things worse, the victims of abuse who reported to the CAA were forced to go through a process before ever getting to settle their case. THEY were made to go to counseling for up to 30 days, then on to mediation that could last another 30 days. Once again, the victims were being abused and the assailants let off the hook. If the mediation failed to resolve the issue, the complainant was then allowed to proceed with an administrative hearing, or file a federal lawsuit. If the complainant was fortunate enough to win her case, she was given a settlement that came out of the CAA. This is just another example of the bureaucracy in Washington DC, where everything is set up to protect the politicians, and rigged to dissuade the victims.
According to the Washington Post, which has been about as reliable as an over used rubber, there have been a total of 235 complaints issued between 1994 and 2014. If the records are correct, $15.2 million dollars has been handed out in settlement cases, which averages out to one settlement per month and a million dollars each year. Now I don’t know about you, but I am about fed up with learning my tax dollars are being spent on things that benefit our politicians, while the only thing getting done these days seems to be happening in their own bedrooms.
Donald Trump made a promise to drain the swamp and I believe he is determined to keep that promise to the American people. It is possible that he may be behind the “courage” that has suddenly appeared out of nowhere in many of these women. The media has painted him as a “Loonytoon”, and unfit to serve as president. Had he made these allegations against his fellow politicians instead of the women, reporters would have had a heyday. They have sold him as a stupid man, but the truth is, he is cold, calm and calculated. His heart is good as gold, to those who deserve his respect, but for those who have used the system or him personally, he has little time and patience for. He is a man who cannot be bought, and one who has great pride. He is a man who loves his country, and believes in the good Lord above. His family has always come first, and it shows in the love in their eyes. I don’t think a better man will ever be found who is as fitting for this job. He will not only drain the swamp, but he will make this country great again. For that we owe him a great deal of gratitude.
