Liberal Media Pounces On Sketchy Trump ‘Promise’ Rumor

President Donald Trump can’t even have confidential meetings with foreign government leaders. Someone, with far higher security clearance than they should have, filed a confidential “whistleblower” complaint.

An anonymous individual, most likely the person who filed the complaint, leaked it’s existence to the press. Probably because it wasn’t getting the speedy response he had expected. The leak about the report has now pitted our new national intelligence director, Joseph Maguire, against liberal House lawmakers. Progressives smell blood in the water and the media is hyping it to the moon.

The Washington Post, a favorite of Washington leakers, was the first to report that “an official in the American intelligence community was so bothered by a ‘promise’ Trump made to a foreign leader that the official filed a formal whistleblower complaint with the inspector general of the intelligence community.

CNN was quick to shout the news wile carefully noting, “CNN has not independently confirmed the detail about a ‘promise’ made to the foreign leader.” In other words, it may be nothing at all but they aren’t about to treat it that way. It’s simply sounds too juicy. Not only that, they are desperate enough to grasp at the flimsiest straws.

The source isn’t saying which foreign leader. It’s all classified so nobody is allowed to say anything but CNN makes the silence into a damning admission. “The Office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to comment. The White House has not responded to CNN’s request for comment. Actually they probably told the CNN reporter to go reproduce with himself, but they aren’t about to print that.

To make it sound mysterious, CNN calls it a mystery. “The details of the complaint are shrouded in mystery.” Then they reveal that the fight between Congress and the spooks “has been brought to the fore by committee Chairman Adam Schiff.” Why aren’t we surprised to find him in the center of the controversy?

He has no idea what the complaint is all about but it has to be earth-shattering. “While not privy to the details of the complaint,” Schiff wrote a nasty letter to the Intelligence Director. “The serious misconduct at issue [allegedly] involves the President of the United States and/or other senior White House or administration officials.” So it might not even be Trump in hot water.

Next, even though not a single leaked word says anything about a time frame, CNN reports a list of likely foreign officials dug up by the Post. “White House records show Trump had spoken to or interacted with five foreign leaders in the previous five weeks, the Post reports: Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands and the Emir of Qatar.”

Then they make sure to run the disclaimer again. “However, it’s not clear that the communication that inspired the complaint was with any of those leaders.” So anyone in Trump’s administration could have made some vague statement, that sounded to an undercover progressive like an improper promise, to any leader, anywhere in the world. They made certain that Putin was on the list though.

Schiff is demanding to see the complaint but Director Maguire says not a chance, it contains classified material.

On Tuesday, Maguire’s office sent letters to both Schiff and Rep. Devin Nunes, informing them that Maguire “was refusing to provide the requested information.” Why? Because the complaint “does not meet the definition of ‘urgent concern.'” In other words, it’s frivolous.

Instead, he’ll sit down with the committee later this month and tell them as much as he can about what’s in it. Schiff grudgingly announced on Wednesday, that Maguire will appear at 9 a.m. on September 26.

Meanwhile, “the intelligence community inspector general will brief the House committee Thursday behind closed doors about how it handled the whistleblower complaint.”

CNN notes they got a copy of the letter and it says “the complaint does not involve anyone in the intelligence community but rather ‘stakeholders within the Executive Branch.'”

Schiff won’t say if it was the original rat that dropped the information in his lap, but his denial makes it sound like that’s exactly who alerted the Trump hating Congressman.

“Schiff declined to say whether he has been contacted by the whistleblower or their legal representation, saying he wouldn’t want to jeopardize them.”
