When one of Rashida Tlaib’s “besties,” Democrat Rep. Ayanna Pressley, sent out a tweet yesterday — ripping our Founding Fathers for not condemning slavery, protecting the rights of women, or including Native Americans — Tlaib had to immediately pass it along to all her followers.
The only way Tlaib ever got elected to Michigan’s 13th congressional district is because Detroit has been taken over by the Muslim community, who wants to institute sharia law as soon as possible. Not just in Michigan, but everywhere in America.
Tlaib honestly believes, deep down in her heart, that the Declaration of Independence is “sexist, racist, and prejudiced.” This only goes to show that she herself is prejudiced. If she bothered to actually read some history, she would find out that Abraham Lincoln and famous freed slave Frederick Douglass both contradict that.
In a speech titled, “What to the slave is the Fourth of July,” Douglas praises our Founders for accomplishing something nearly impossible.
“Fellow Citizens, I am not wanting in respect for the fathers of this republic. The signers of the Declaration of Independence were brave men. They were great men too — great enough to give fame to a great age.”
He admits that as a former slave, he might have cause to be offended. “The point from which I am compelled to view them is not, certainly, the most favorable; and yet I cannot contemplate their great deeds with less than admiration. They were statesmen, patriots and heroes, and for the good they did, and the principles they contended for, I will unite with you to honor their memory.”
“They were peace men; but they preferred revolution to peaceful submission to bondage. They were quiet men; but they did not shrink from agitating against oppression. They showed forbearance; but that they knew its limits. They believed in order; but not in the order of tyranny. With them, nothing was “settled” that was not right. With them, justice, liberty and humanity were “final;” not slavery and oppression. You may well cherish the memory of such men. They were great in their day and generation. Their solid manhood stands out the more as we contrast it with these degenerate times.”

Tlaib will be absolutely shocked when she finds out that one of her cronies in Congress, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, agrees with Frederick Douglass and proves Tlaib is the one with mistakenly preconceived ideas. AOC re-posted this tweet on her account.
Frederick Douglass knew the importance of the Declaration, which is why he used it to pen a searing indictment of slavery. Read his imperishable statement. https://t.co/rZoJk5kEVz
