Trump Tweets Bad News for Pakistan

by Daveda Gruber:

The President opened 2018 with words to say to Pakistan. President Trump accused the Muslim-majority nation of harboring terrorists. He expressed frustration that the United States has “foolishly” sent billions in aid to the country.

It was reported by ‘The New York Times’ last week that the Trump administration is considering withholding $255 million in aid to Pakistan. The money would express its dissatisfaction with how they have confronted terrorism in their country.

The United States has had frustrations with Pakistan for many years. It is a country that has been rocked by terrorist attacks and whose ISI intelligence agency (Inter-Services Intelligence) is viewed suspiciously.

The Pakistani town of Abbottabad is where Usama bin Laden hid until he was killed by United States Navy SEALS in 2011.

The country is still holding Dr. Shakil Afridi, the Pakistani doctor who helped the CIA pinpoint Bin Laden ahead of the raid.

President Trump also tweeted about Iran.

Trump has been consistent in tweeting support for the protesters.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani criticized President Trump through comments on Sunday. He explained that Trump “has forgotten that he had called Iranian people ‘terrorists’ a few months ago.”

A few months ago the Iranian people were not in conflict with the leaders of their county. Things change with people’s actions.

  1. Good to hear. I hope the President sticks to no longer giving our money away. This is long overdue especially when you never see any positive results from your charitable giving.
