#CNNBlackmail: CNN Just Went Lower by Blackmailing a Private Citizen

May Have Broken Laws Three Jurisdictions; Federal, New York, and Even Georgia!

Multiple outlets including The Washington Times, Breitbart, and Newsmax even The Intercept are reporting that liberal propaganda outlet CNN is blackmailing a private citizen by threatening to release his identity after he allegedly created an anti-CNN Trump meme that depicts Trump ‘body-slamming’ a wrestler with the CNN logo plastered over the wrestler’s face.

This story broke after Trump tweeted the meme in question on his official Twitter account.

Newsmax wrote an article on this matter entitled “CNN Blackmail: Shut Up Redditor Or We’ll Expose You” in that article Newsmax wrote the following:

CNN is trending on social media, but the #CNNBlackmail is a far cry from the kind of attention the marketing folks prefer. The hashtag topped Twitter trends in the U.S. When it emerged that the network “blackmailed” a Redditor.

The incident that sparked the campaign took place last week, when a reddit user, “HanA**holeSolo” shared a GIF showing Donald Trump punching a wrestler who featured CNN’s logo superimposed over his face.

The GIF later disappeared from the internet.

On Sunday, however, Trump famously tweeted an edited video with sound from the original GIF, noted CNN.”

The Washington Times also wrote an entitled “CNN’S ‘#BlackMail’ hashtag of shame

In that article The Washington Times wrote the following:

CNN, already down in the dumps about skewed coverage that led to the departure of three network news staffers, is now walking a Twitter hall of shame with a hashtag that showcases the company as less than honorable, as one and the same with, say mobsters and the criminal underworld.

#CNNBlackmail soared at the top of the trending Twitter feeds in the United States, the somewhat predictable result of the company’s seeming foray into, well, blackmail. And of a private citizen, no less.

Here’s what’s going on: Sunday President Donald Trump linked a video in his tweet that showed him wrestling CNN to the ground. The video was created by an individual who goes by the Reddit name of “HanA**holeSolo.

The video caused quite a disturbance among the candy-eaters of the left, who cried that Trump’s tweet of it constituted a call to violent arms against the media.”

Breitbart also wrote an article entitled “‘CNN Blackmail’ #1 Twitter Trend As Network Threatens To Reveal Reddit User’s Identity

Breitbart wrote the following:

CNN’s public image sank further into the mud last evening as public anger over the network’s recent action exploded on social media.

#CNNBlackmail” rose to the top of Twitter’s trending hashtags after the network threatened to reveal the identity of a Reddit user alleged to have created an animated image mocking CNN, which was recently tweeted by President Trump.

The Intercept’s Glenn Greenwald wrote an article entitled “CNN Warns It May Expose An Anonymous Critic If He Ever Again Publishes Bad Content.”

In the article Glenn Greenwald wrote the following:

A Controversy erupted last Tuesday night after CNN published an article announcing that it had uncovered the identity of the anonymous Reddit user who created the video of President Donald Trump punching a CNN logo. CNN and other outlets had previously reported that the user who uses a pseudonym, had also posted anti-Semitic and racist content on Reddit, including identifying all of the Jewish employees of CNN designated with a Jewish star next to their photos.

Though CNN decided – for now – not to reveal his name, the network made clear that this discretion was predicated on the user’s lengthy public apology, his promise not to repeat the behavior and his status as a private citizen. But in its article the network explicitly threatened that it could change its mind about withholding the user’s real name if his behavior changes in the future.

New let’s take a look at CNN’s article article entitled “How CNN Found The Reddit User Behind The Trump Wrestling GIF.

CNN wrote the following:

The Reddit user who initially claimed credit for President Donald Trump’s tweet that showed Trump tackling CNN issue an apology Tuesday for the video and other offensive content he posted, one day after CNN identified the man behind the account and attempted to make contact with him.

The article goes on saying “Reddit user “HanA**holeSolo first shared the GIF last Wednesday of Trump pummeling a wrestler with CNN’s logo imposed on his face. CNN could find no earlier instance of the GIF The GIF was later edited into a video with sound and tweeted by the President on Sunday.

On Reddit, “HanA**holeSolo took credit for inspiring the tweet. Soon after, “HanA**holeSolo’s other posts on Reddit, some of which included racist and anti-Semitic imagery, quickly circulated on social media.

Now the user is apologizing, writing in a lengthy post on Reddit that he does not advocate violence against the press and expressing remorse there and in an interview with CNN for other posts he made that were racist and anti-Semitic.

The apology came after CNN’s KFIle identified the man behind “HanA**holeSolo.” Using identifying information that “HanA**holeSolo” posted on Reddit, KFile was able to determine key biographical details, to find the man’s name using a Facebook search and ultimately corroborate details he had made available on Reddit.

On Monday, KFILE attempted to contact the man by email and phone but he did not respond. On Tuesday, “HanA**holeSolo” posted his apology on the subreddit /The_Donald and deleted all of his other posts.

“First of all, I would like to apologize to the members of the reddit community for getting this site and this sub embroiled in a controversy that should never have happened,” he wrote. “I would also like to apologize for the posts made that were racist, bigoted, and anti-Semitic. I am in no way this kind of person, I love and accept people of all walks of life and have done so for my entire life. I am not the person that the media portrays me to be in real life, I was trolling and posting things to get a reaction from the subs on reddit and never meant any of the hateful things I said in those posts. I would never support any kind of violence or actions against others simply for what they believe in, their religion, or the lifestyle they choose to have. Nor would I carry out any violence against anyone based upon that or support anyone who did.”

The user further apologized for calls for violence against the press in his statement on Reddit.

The meme was created purely as satire, it was not meant to be a call to violence against CNN or any other news affiliation,” he wrote. “I had no idea anyone would take it and put sound to it and then have it put up on the President’s Twitter feed. It was a prank, nothing more. What the President’s feed showed was not the original post that was posted here, but loaded up somewhere else and sound added to it then sent out on Twitter. I thought it was the original post that was made and that is why I took credit for it. I have the highest respect for the journalist community and they put their lives on the line every day with the jobs that they do in reporting the news.”

The apology has since been taken down by the moderators of /The_Donald subreddit.

Here’s the kicker of that article, the article goes on to say the following:

CNN is not publishing “HanA**holeSolo’s” name because he is a private citizen who has issued an extensive statement of apology, showed his remorse by saying he has taken down all his offending posts, and because he said he is not going to repeat this ugly behavior on social media again. In addition, he said his statement could serve as an example to others not to do the same.

But they seem to contradict themselves in the very next line by saying “CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change.”

A lot of people including Julian Assange, the Wikileaks founder and even Senator Ted Cruz are now suggesting that CNN may have actually broken laws in three jurisdictions, a federal law, a New York State law and even a Georgia state.

Julian Assage posted this on Twitter on on July 4.17:

Here’s what the federal law that Assange suggest states:

The law is titled 18 U.S.C. § 241 – U.S. Code – Unannotated Title 18. Crimes and Criminal Procedure § 241. Conspiracy against rights.

If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same;  or…

If two or more persons go in disguise on the highway, or on the premises of another, with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege so secured–

They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both;  and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

Ted Cruz posted on Twitter that CNN may have broken both a Georgia state and a New York state law.

There’s conflicting reports about the man’s age, however regardless of his age it is still no excuse for CNN to be blackmailing someone because they did something they did not like.

Here’s the Georgia state law titled Georgia Code Title 16. Crimes and Offenses § 16-8-16

(a) A person commits the offense of theft by extortion when he unlawfully obtains property of or from another person by threatening to:

(1) Inflict bodily injury on anyone or commit any other criminal offense;

(2) Accuse anyone of a criminal offense;

(3) Disseminate any information tending to subject any person to hatred, contempt, or ridicule or to impair his credit or business repute;

(4) Take or withhold action as a public official or cause an official to take or withhold action;

(5) Bring about or continue a strike, boycott, or other collective unofficial action if the property is not demanded or received for the benefit of the group in whose interest the actor purports to act; or

(6) Testify or provide information or withhold testimony or information with respect to another’s legal claim or defense.

(b) In a prosecution under this Code section, the crime shall be considered as having been committed in the county in which the threat was made or received or in the county in which the property was unlawfully obtained.

(c) It is an affirmative defense to prosecution based on paragraph (2), (3), (4), or (6) of subsection (a) of this Code section that the property obtained by threat of accusation, exposure, legal action, or other invocation of official action was honestly claimed as restitution or indemnification for harm done in the circumstance to which such accusation, exposure, legal action, or other official action relates or as compensation for property or lawful services.

(d) A person convicted of the offense of theft by extortion shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than one nor more than ten years.

Also here’s the New York State law titled New York Consolidated Laws, Penal Law – PEN § 135.60 Coercion in the second degree

A person is guilty of coercion in the second degree when he or she compels or induces a person to engage in conduct which the latter has a legal right to abstain from engaging in, or to abstain from engaging in conduct in which he or she has a legal right to engage, or compels or induces a person to join a group, organization or criminal enterprise which such latter person has a right to abstain from joining, by means of instilling in him or her a fear that, if the demand is not complied with, the actor or another will:

1. Cause physical injury to a person;  or

2. Cause damage to property;  or

3. Engage in other conduct constituting a crime;  or

4. Accuse some person of a crime or cause criminal charges to be instituted against him or her;  or

5. Expose a secret or publicize an asserted fact, whether true or false, tending to subject some person to hatred, contempt or ridicule;  or

6. Cause a strike, boycott or other collective labor group action injurious to some person’s business;  except that such a threat shall not be deemed coercive when the act or omission compelled is for the benefit of the group in whose interest the actor purports to act;  or

7. Testify or provide information or withhold testimony or information with respect to another’s legal claim or defense;  or

8. Use or abuse his or her position as a public servant by performing some act within or related to his or her official duties, or by failing or refusing to perform an official duty, in such manner as to affect some person adversely;  or

9. Perform any other act which would not in itself materially benefit the actor but which is calculated to harm another person materially with respect to his or her health, safety, business, calling, career, financial condition, reputation or personal relationships.

Coercion in the second degree is a class A misdemeanor.

There’s been reports of how is Reddit account featured “racists” and “offensive “ content however, we cant confirm the content on his account, cause he seems to have deleted his Reddit account.

Also, the apology CNN stated that he posted on the subrredit /The_Donld has been taken down by the moderators of the subreddit according CNN.

Probably on the account of the moderators realizing it was not a sincere “apology” it was an coerced and forced “apology” because the moderator of the subreddit did an interview with RT (Russia Today) and voiced displeasure of CNN blackmailing a private citizen.

RT wrote CNN informally declared war on the internet and the whole World Wide Web turned against it, the head of the moderator of /r/The_Donald subreddit, where the clip that triggered the #CNNBlackmail scandal was originally posted, told RT in an exclusive interview.

No one should be surprised by the fact that “CNN is suppressing a private citizen’s right of free speech,” he said. The man is a moderator of “The_Donald” subreddit, where the viral clip, showing US President Donald Trump wrestling a man with the CNN logo for a head, was originally posted and then deleted by its creator. The scandal started after the news network tracked down the alleged meme maker and threatened to disclose his identity if they post such “offensive” content again.

RT went on to say the moderator believes that such action against freedom of speech cannot end up without consequences.

CNN has all of the internet against them right now, and when an organization attacks freedom of speech, it never ends up well for them, he told RT.

This is an attack on the internet, and CNN has informally declared war upon it, In return we need to hit CNN where it hurts, and tell the advertise companies, that you do not approve of them by running ads at the network or endorsing CNN by running ads.,”

While CNN says it respects the privacy of the man behind the viral meme, the network said that it “reserves the right to publish identity should any of that change,” which is understood as “complete threat,” ‘PrinceCAmelton’ said in the interview. This message was received by the whole community, the moderator said, referring to the threat.

CNN has no right to make “blanket threats, telling you to stop doing what you want to do on the internet” the moderator stated, adding that people should “stick to their guns and do what they think is right.”

The moderator also said the he would be frightened if he were the Reddit user who posted the clip.

CNN’s move has triggered outrage among the internet users, resulting in many more mocking memes and videos

There are hundreds of other gifs just like that there are subreddits that are dedicated just to mocking CNN gifs now,” /r/The_Donald moderator said.

RT even mentioned President Trump’s tweet about the whole situation

What CNN did was unfortunate for them,” US President Donald Trump, said referring to the scandal during his visit to Poland on Thursday.

I think that CNN has really taken it the [viral clip] too seriously, and i think they have hurt themselves very badly, he stated, adding that the network has been “fake news for a long time”.

Here’s the video of the RT interview with the moderator of the subreddit.

However liberal progressive propaganda outlets such as the likes of Salon, are calling him a Trump supporter, however we cant confirm if he’s a Trump supporter or someone  who just doesn’t the Mainstream Media on the account that he deleted his account on Reddit.

In an article in title “Internet Trolls Say CNN Is Blackmailing The Guy Who Posted A Viral Donald Trump Meme” Salon wrote the following:

CNN is learning the hard way that when you try to be nice to pro-Trump trolls, they do not reciprocate the gratitude.

On Wednesday, CNN tracked down the troll who created the GIF of President Donald Trump tackling an embodiment of “CNN” in reality the logo superimposed on the body of Vince McMahon during a wrestling match a decade ago. The tweet went viral when Trump retweeted it. CNN discovered that the user, HanAssholeSolo, also posted a slew of racist and anti-Semitic posts. The user was quick to apologize to other users on Reddit.”

Let that sink in, so Slate thinks blackmailing a private citizen is “being nice” to them?

Also before i end this i should point another aspect of how CNN is trying to defend themselves on this matter particularly with this line “CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change”, they claim that the reporter or i should propagandist Andrew Kaczynski didn’t personally put the line it, they claim it was done by an editor for a “legal defense.”

Well regardless of whoever put that line in the article the law does NOT make any exceptions for a group of people let me remind you what the federal law states:

The law titled 18 U.S.C. § 241 – U.S. Code – Unannotated Title 18. Crimes and Criminal Procedure § 241. Conspiracy against rights states

A lot of defenders of CNN are constantly saying that the user posted “racist” and “offensive” stuff on his account, or that “he’s not 15”. Regardless of his age or the content on that was on his page. He does not deserve to be threaten and harass by a major propaganda media outlet like CNN.

Let’s take one more look at a few lines from that CNN article.

After posting his apology, “HanA**holeSolo” called CNN’s KFile and confirmed his identity. In the interview, “HanA**holeSolo” sounded nervous about his identity being revealed and asked to not be named out of fear for his personal safety and for the public embarrassment it would bring to him and his family.

CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change.

This is unethical and unprofessional journalism, in fact its not even journalism this is blackmail, threatening to out someone because they posted something you didn’t like. Let me remind you this guy is a private citizen not a public figure. It would be one thing if they did this to a public figure which would still be unethical and unprofessional, however a public figure would have the resources available to fight back, a private citizen does not have the resources available to fight a major propaganda outlet like CNN, and according to their very own article “he sounded nervous about his identity being revealed and asked to not be named out of fear for his personal safety and for the public embarrassment it would bring to him and his family”.

Publicly outing him like CNN threatens to do if he changes his mind about his “apology” or retracts it, would potentially put his life and his family’s life in danger.

This is an unacceptable behavior by a major propaganda media outlet. This is really low, i thought Hillary Clinton said during the presidential campaign that “when they go low, we go high”. Well, unfortunately it looks like CNN took the low road on this and may have even broken several laws.
